1. Controller

QuetzalGo (legal name Quetzalgo), a tour operator in Guatemala, is responsible for the data you share on quetzalgo.gt. For any privacy question, write to info@quetzalgo.gt.

2. What we collect

• From the person booking: name, email, phone, country of residence and contact preference.
• From each traveler: name, email, age, nationality and dietary preference; optionally, passport number, allergies and health information.
• One emergency contact for the group.
• For private trip requests: dates, number of travelers, destinations, activities and trip preferences.
• Through the contact form: name, email and your message.
• Technical browsing data, according to your privacy preferences.

We never receive or store your card details: payments are processed by our payment provider.

3. Why we use it

• To confirm and run your booking: places, transport, meals, gear and safety on the trail.
• To send you the confirmation, reminders, the liability waiver and notices about your booking.
• To prepare and follow up a private trip proposal.
• To answer your messages.
• To meet accounting and tax obligations.
• To measure and improve the website and our campaigns, according to your privacy preferences.

4. Health and dietary data

Allergies, health information, diet and the emergency contact are used only to run the experience safely, and only the staff who need them can see them.

5. Who we share it with

• Payment providers, to process charges and refunds.
• Technology providers that host the website, store information and help us manage sales, operations and communications, under confidentiality obligations.
• Measurement and advertising platforms, such as Google, Meta and TikTok, according to your privacy preferences.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

We do not sell your data.

6. How long we keep it

We keep booking data for as long as needed to run the trip, handle claims and meet accounting and tax obligations. Contact messages and private requests are kept while there is commercial follow-up.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or to stop using it for marketing, by writing to info@quetzalgo.gt. Some data must be kept for legal or accounting reasons.

You can change your measurement and advertising preferences at any time from "Privacy preferences".

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No system is infallible; if we detect an incident affecting your data, we will let you know.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version with its effective date.
